I just finished up "The Road to Perdition", by Max Allan Collins.
A co-worker suggested that the book was way better than the Tom Hanks movie. So I reserved the book at my local library and waited about 6 months for it to become available. What did I think? Like the movie there was a lot of violence in the book. I'm a little squeamish about that. It was a good story, but I think I liked the movie ending better. The scene where the main character put his wife and son to bed after their murder was more touching than the movie rendition. Overall it was a good read, but I don't feel the need to add this title to the permanent collection.
More than anything I am blown away by the potential of a comic book to really tell a story very well. Too bad there aren't more comics aimed at adults interesting plots.
