i think there are a few possibilities...
1. the person only blogs about really boring stuff (say, lint-collecting) that the significant other doesn't care about; the blog is where the person gets to talk about the thing his/her SO isn't interested in.
2. the SO already knows all the stuff in the blog because they talk about it in person; i.e., the SO is not the intended audience.
3. the SO is a self-centered jerkwad.
this list may not be exhaustive.
I don't know why, but somehow I read this backwards and thought you were saying the blogger was the "self-centered jerkwad." Being a self-centered blogger myself that seemed entirely plausible. It's been a long day.
