The BBC published a fantastic list of "One Hundred Things We Didn't Know Last Year". My personal favorite was that the pope has been known to wear red prada shoes. I would totally rip on the pope for this, but I actually had a red pair of shoes, back in my short-lived Don Johnson/Miami Vice phase.
Time for me to work on my list ... what didn't I know last year, where to start?

I love giving toys to my children that I can play with.
One of the best parts of my trip to Australia was driving down the "Great Ocean Road" to see the "Twelve Apostles."
The drive a breathtaking. The experience was greatly enhanced by the fact that I was due for some relaxation after I had spent the week in a very secure undisclosed location. (No I did not see Dick Cheney.) I made it as far as Port Fairy. I hope some day I can return and bike this area.
The staff at my hotel were kind enough to point me to a small bistro, il solito posto, for breakfast. It was just around the corner from my hotel in an alley. I liked it well enough I had nearly every breakfast there and more than one supper. It was small with a friendly staff who were willing to let me into their stories.
The coffee was perfect.
The first thing I ate there was the Eggs Salmone. It was a great way to start a long day.
This kind of muesli has now become my favorite breakfast food. All you do is take a nice muesli, like Bob's Red Mill Muesli, mix yogurt and muesli at a 2:1 ratio and refridgerate overnight. Milk or juice can be substituted for yogurt if preferred. Then in the morning serve it with a nice dollop of yogurt. If you want to be fancy garnish with fruit, honey or granola. Two of the four people in my household love it.
I was late getting to the airport yesterday. I was so late that the gate had been closed and the person behind the desk had to call people to see if it was still possible to get on board. The helpful Sun Country counter person managed to not only get me on board the plane but gave me a nice exit row seat. She handed me my boarding pass, wished me luck at getting through security and added "Now don't be embarrassed about running in the airport, just do it."
