Why is it the simplest things become a full blown circus of obstinacy and impishness. All I wanted was to get hands washed after going to the park. I didn't want to do anything that hasn't been done a hundred times before. Why was it so hard today?
I used to cheer myself by saying that anything worth doing was hard to do. Now I am thinking of changing that phrase to "anything worth doing will be pointlessly difficult, will need to be done over and over again badly until random events cause one to be freed from their Sisyphus like struggle with the impossible."

A quick thunderstorm rolled through the northern suburbs of the twin cities today. It was quite spectacular in a lot of ways. I don't think it did any damage, but the wind really whipped up and we saw a little hail. It's kind of rare to see the rolling, roiling front part of a thunderstorm here.

A blog I read frequently, Dave's Picks shocked me today. I've been surfing the net since the early days of the mosaic browser with it's ever spinning globe. It takes a lot to shock me. This left me speechless.
Here’s the shocker for the day. After my last haircut in 1982, I’d decided I’d had enough.

I don't know Dave all that well. By the time I had arrived at the company formerly know as LaserMaster, he was more legend than reality. He had a certain unmistakeable, Viking-like appearance. I don't know who the guy is in the picture, but I wouldn't have thought it was Dave. I'm still not sure. Dave, post a before picture.
